I have to admit, most of my races have been in New York -- I love the big city, the crowds of runners and spectators, plus a really excellent skyline. This article/column by Roger Robinson has really good insight into big road races and what they are all about. I know that I have chosen a mid-sized marathon to try and BQ this year, but I would love nothing better than to do it at a big city -- New York, Chicago, LA. If you get a chance, try the small town race and the big city, both have their perks!

I've recently graduation from college and am working on starting my career. This is the first time in my life that society isn't dictating that I go back to school in the fall. Maybe that is why I love running and the commitment it takes. No matter what happens in the coming years, I hopefully will have running to fall back on!
I have some crazy marathon goals, but to complete seven marathons on seven continents isn't one of them. However, Ted Jackson did just that. He might become my newest inspiration for my BQ.
Ever since I learned about Roger Banister running a sub-four-minute mile, I have been obsessed with people breaking barriers. Here is an interesting article on the sub-two hour marathon!
